I'm currently working on a PhD in electrochemistry at Aalto University, Helsinki. I have over ten years experience in programming, starting from visual basic, then PHP and C++ and recently using matlab and C.

My interest is in using microcontrollers to build instruments and lab equipment. Projects I have planned based on the mbed are:

1. A flow meter based around the Swissflow SF800 flowmeter 2. Temperature sensing and PID control of a Peltier element using the ADC/DAC capabilities or using SPI interfaced chips. The objective being to utilise analogue control of the Peltier to eliminate the horrendous noise we experience with PWM attenuation.
