MQTT Client(s) for Mbed

Hello all,

I am new to Mbed and looking at what support Mbed provides for MQTT. From what I have researched, It appears there may be two main options when implementing an MQTT client on a device running Mbed. There are examples based on the MQTT client from the PAHO Project. These examples appear to reference the PAHO library, but that library isn't distributed with MBed. Then there appears to be an MQTT client that is part of lwIP that is distributed along with Mbed. It also appears that it's been a few years since there was much activity on either of these two.

Assuming my understanding above is correct, what is the recommend client to use moving forward? Would it be the PAHO client or the lwIP client?
