LoRa point-to-point viability

We are worried that a network built to use LoRa point-to-point might become non-viable if LoRaWAN becomes successful and popular, so that the point-to-point messages cannot get through if there is a LoRaWAN system operating nearby. Can you comment on this? Thanks.
