Does DAP-Link need a UART from target board to support serial debug?
Hi there,
I am checking the document of DAP-Link, but I can't find the answer. Also I have checked the K64F board and it has used the SWD, SWCLK and a UART to connect the target board.
I think it is a waste of resource when using SWD and UART. As Jlink can use the SWD to simulate the UART.
Much appreciate. JZ

Hi JZ,
We're sorry that you had problems finding the information you were looking for! Just like J-Link, DAPLink also provides a virtual serial port that can be used so you don't need to connect a UART to support serial debug. The virtual port is handled over the native debug channel (using SWD and SWCLK).
