BLE / Thread support timeline for FRDM-KW41Z

The platform page for the FRDM-KW41Z (https://os.mbed.com/platforms/FRDM-KW41Z/) states that BLE and Thread support for this chip in mBed is 'TBD'.

Is there any more useful information on timeline for this? Are we likely to be waiting weeks / months/ years?

Hi Joel,

This feature is almost completed but is pending on a pull request which hit some test infrastructure issues:

Can you tell us how important this is for you - for instance is it gating a commercial opportunity? That will help prioritize our development efforts.

Hi Ralph,

Thank you for the response - great to hear that the features are almost ready.

As regards importance to me, I have been tasked to prototype a new commercial product that would very likely be based on the KW41Z - part of the brief is to make use of mBed if I can to allow for flexibility in the future. Thread and especially BLE are central to the product so I cannot explore mBed further until these are in place.

Thanks, Joel

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback Joel. We have forwarded this on to the NXP Partner Enablement manager. We suggest following the above pull request to track progress on the feature.

Not sure if this question is still monitored, but....

I have been following the github pull request mentioned, but notice this is focused on Thread support, rather than BLE. Is BLE included in this? I pulled the code and used it to see if it added BLE support, but made no difference. I'm using the BLE LED example project as my test:

Is there anything I can follow to monitor BLE support for this chip?

Thnaks, Joel
