Uploading FreeRTOS to mbed Development Board

I'd like to have a go at running a FreeRTOS based application on the classing mbed board (https://os.mbed.com/platforms/mbed-LPC1768/). Does anyone know how it can be programmed? Which pins can be used with a JTAG prorgammer?

When you connect the board to your host, you should see MBED drive enumerated. You should be able to drag-n-drop your FreeRTOS based application on to the MBED drive.

So in effect, the board itself has no concept of the mbed OS, and it's the "magic chip" which is responsible for transferring any program making use of the ARM instruction set?
