KL25Z not working with custom PCB

I'm using a custom PCB with the 32 pin QFN version of the MKL25Z128 used in the FRDM KL25Z development board with an 8MHz oscillator. When I program it using NXP MCUXpresso IDE using an example from the NXP KL25Z SDK it works fine but when I try to program it using a modified blinky .bin file created by the mbed compiler nothing happens.
