Bugfix needed - autoadded to mailing list for blogs/marketing materials - no opt-out link in email.

  • 1) These should be opt-in and not opt-out.
  • 2) Simply put, that's not nice.
  • 3) I shouldn't be forced to recover an account name, and account password just to unsubscribe from a mailing list - make this a one-click process like every considerate entity of automated mailing lists does.

google recapcha is just obnoxious at this point, can we not go back to typing text in? I don't have the time in my life to spend clicking arbitrary pictures of fuzz to be told I'm not a person. This gets into UI design debate and user accessibility stuff, which is outside the scope of this post's intention, but I'll leave the point dangling here as food for thought.

I'm trying my best not be whinging here, but this is honestly irritating stuff.

I'd be less irritated if I'd been signing back in to mbed here of my own requirement and accord, but this is a yank of requirement just to click two checkboxes so silence my inbox.

I'd be much less irritated if I'd gotten a single email of "hey we have these new mailing lists, reply to this message with a message of your own to subscribe, or remain silent to opt-out".

Only the first three sentences here really matter.

I won't be logging back in to care about these things for a while, I just thought I'd let you know. Yes this sounds kind of passive-aggressive, sorry. Make of it what you will - or won't :)
