How do I commit to flash?

I read that I can use JLink to copy application to the NRF52 DK which I have done and it runs fine. I want to commit the application to flash memory. I read that hitting the reset button on the DK does this but when I try doing that nothing happens. The application restarts but is not committed to memory. Can anyone help me out here? Sorry as I am pretty new to all this.
