Need some help getting mbed up and running.

Hi,

I have just opened up my mbed developer kit and right of the bat I'm getting an error

"The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU"

I have tried updating firmware and I am not getting anywhere. In the details file it reads version 0221 and build Nov 17 2016.

When I open up the html file, it reads ST platforms and device id not found, please updated firmware. Which I have done.

I have just connected the board with a usb...not sure if I would need anything else.

Using the MultiConnect mDot MTUDK2-ST-MDOT

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Dean,

So this is a tricky board to get right :), you need to first power the developer kit via its power supply first, with the mdot connected.

Then plug in the usb from the kit to the pc.

Let me know.

Thanks Andrea, I just figured it out. I had to connect the pins on the mdot that are at the back. My mdot didn't come with the header pins. And to complicate things further, they didn't line up very well. I eventually got the pins connected and updated the firmware. No more FAIL.TXT!!!! Hopefully that's clear.

This is what made me realize I had to connect those pins in back. http://www.multitech.net/developer/software/mdot-software/mdot-firmware-upgrade/
