Curious
This may be a silly question, however, having run into things like this before, I just want to be sure.
If I develop something, using mbed, on my Freescale board, can I then unplug the board from the computer and actually USE it? or does it have to be connected to the computer running the mbed IDE to "run" the code on the device?

Your code will be flashed in the processor and runs without the IDE. The PC will only be needed to provide an optional keyboard and/or terminal. Obviously you also need a powersupply either through USB or from some other source.
