Connecting VBat on the STM32F746 Discovery
Hi Guys,
The VBat connector is - by default - connected on the STM32F746 Discovery to the VDD. In other words, when the device is powered-off, then the RTC timer is reset. Since the STM32F746 has a BGA216 package, you cannot solder an external battery to pin C1.
Has anybody done something similar before?

You need to download the Discoery schematics from STM and look into it. I know it for the Nucleo 64 boards, where the bridge SB45 can be de-soldered to supply VBAT separately. Regards Helmut
