Silly Open Source Community Question

What CMS/Collaboration platform are you guys using? I help run another community and we've never achieved the level of online engagement that I see here. Tools and approach really seem to help a lot. Thanks in advance for the reply.

If you're interested in building a community around Open Source software I recommend reading 'The Art of Community' by Jono Bacon. Jono is the Ubuntu community manager so clearly knows what he's talking about. It's quite a fun read as well. You can read it online for free or buy a physical copy.

Hi David,

The reason might be that over the past 4 years or so, both the compiler and the mbed.org website have been effectively written from scratch by ourselves. Of course libraries and frameworks are used, but fundamentally it's our own work.

While there are plenty of off the shelf community cms packages, we could not have achieved the level of integration we have with them.

Thanks for asking!

Big + 1for creating a solid community in under 4 years. That is not easy to do.
