Drive BLDC motor with lower rated voltage
I'm trying to make sure I understand a couple of the parameters for the XNUCLEO-IHM07M1 (BLDC motor driver L6230) expansion board:
1) Nominal operating voltage range from 8 V to 48 V DC 2) 2.8 A output peak current (1.4 ARMS)
I have this BLDC motor spec:
Voltage: 7.4V (2S LiPoly) Max power: 38.9W Max Amps: 3.5A
For obvious reasons, I think the above motor does not meet the expansion board's criteria in both Vs and peak current. Must I have motors that have to be supplied at least 8V and no more than 2.8V peak current for the expansion board to be usable? If so, what other options out there to run the lower voltage BLDC motor specified above to work with the nucleo board?
