I have the same problem. Is there a solution for it?

P.S. found the solution in the readbear forum:

"Insert after ble.init: ble.initializeSecurity();"

You might consider asking at https://devzone.nordicsemi.com, as the BLE Nano is based on nRF51822. Maybe there are more people with issues.
