My Arch Pro does not transmit, but does receive on USB

I acquired an Arch Pro last week, have tried various code examples, they work. The serial USB does not. This example USBSerial_Echo. I have installed the windows driver, and can see the rx led blink, when I type in the terminal window but no tx activity, any ideas? I do not have a jumper on SPI VCC yet. Sadly the Seeed Arch Pro docs are lacking.

What serial terminal are you using? I generally find PuTTY to be the most reliable on Windows.
