Lipo charger and stepup single ic

Hello,

looking around for a simple way to power mbed with lipo battery and charge it onboard while operating, i came accross "Power Banks" for cell phones https://www.google.com/#q=power+bank+2600mah. I'm not expert in lipo stuff, these solutions seems the most easy but also the less reliable, question is: is there any alternative (in price and simplicity) from some trusted manufacturer?
