Can't Install bin file on USB
I bought LPC812 MAX. PC is win7. I had been willing to do first step. USB is recognized by PC and driver will be correct. But, bin file drop and down on USB, there, "fail " file exit and not go further. How do I do?
Best refgatds Hiroyasu Matsuda, Japan.
Hi Hiroyasu,
Those are instructions for upgrading the mbed's interface chip, not for programming the microctroller. If you are trying to update the interface chip firmware, could you please tell me what is written inside the fail.txt file?
If you are simply trying flash a program bin file that you created in the online compiler (not a platform firmware image), you should not follow the instructions on that page. You should unplug, then replug your mbed into your computer to ensure that it shows up as a drive labled "MBED". Then you should be able to program your mbed by dragging the bin file on to the USB drive. After the light on the mbed stops flashing, hit reset and your program should run.
posted by Brian Daniels 31 Jul 2015Dear Brian-san Thank you for your quick response. Yes, I am willing to install the program bin file of "lpc_hellowworld_lpc812.bin". There is "MBED" drive of "mbed.htm. But, I can not store the bin file on it when dragging the bin file.
posted by hiroyasu matsuda 31 Jul 2015The bin file should be dragged and dropped into the mbed drive. It will NOT remain visible on this mbed drive like it would on a normal memory stick of drive. The drag and drop will directly flash the lpc812 with the new bin. Just press reset and the new code should start running.
