Will mbed OS be API compatible with RTOS?
If I now write a program using the current RTOS API, will my program work without major porting work on mbed OS or will those system be fundamentally different? The warning that current RTOS will be deprecated because of mbed OS worries me a little in regard to developing new applications using the current RTOS.

Hello,
they are different. Just +/- one more month for the beta release.
What platform are you using ? Arch pro?
Not quite, using the mbed LPC1768 for this project.
Thanks for your reply, I will probably wait for the beta then. It's a long term project and needs support for many years without changing the core components too much.
E: Is there by any chance a public documentation available yet so we can get an idea what is coming?
posted by 13 Jul 2015Hi Martin: I'm in a similar situation to Peter: I'm currently working on a long term application which uses the RTOS library (as well as several other libraries from the mbed cookbook).
Will the new OS be have similar features (threading, signals, semaphores etc) which will replace those in the current library, or will it be better to think about using say, FreeRTOS?

Off-topic, will mbed-dsp library be ever updated and bugs fixed ?
