Antennas characteristics/model?
I couldn't find the expected characteristics of the antennas to be connected to this module. Even the schematic does not mention an expected impedance. I'm assuming it's 50 ohms? Can Semtech provide a link to recommended typical antennas models available at usual online stores? Previous semtech kits had antennas included, this one no longer has. Thanks

Hi Domininique,
Yes, the antenna port on the SX1276MB1xAS is at 50 ohms. You can find antennas that are also used on other SX1276 kits at Linx Technologies. The part numbers are: 433MHz 1/4 Wave PN = ANT-433-CW-HWR-SMA, 868MHz 1/2 Wave PN = ANT-868-CW-HWR-SMA, 915MHz 1/2 Wave PN = ANT-916-CW-HWR-SMA. For the 915 MHz antenna the datasheet can be found at -> http://www.linxtechnologies.com/resources/data-guides/ant-916-cw-hwr.pdf and for the 868MHz antenna -> http://www.linxtechnologies.com/resources/data-guides/ant-868-cw-hwr.pdf
These antennas can be found in stock at DigiKey and Mouser (stocking distributors for Linx Tech).
Have fun with your project.
Let me know how much response you get from this project. It was the biggest waste of money I've every spent on an IoT product. Unless you really know the system! I wish you the very best of luck. And if you want another module, I'll sell you mine cheaper than you can buy online.
My advice to anyone - don't waste your time and money. There is no support from the company. And I mean the LoRa module, not the mbed.
posted by Nicholas Herriot 11 Jun 2015Hi Nicholas, Sorry that you did not receive a response on your previous support requests. All new inquiries are now being reported to myself in supporting the LoRa mbed component shields. I will be posting new sample code and application examples in the coming weeks and months. Best Regards, Loren
