Timing for Atmel SAMR21 support?

I saw that Atmel recently announced mbed support for the SAMR21 chip.

Does anyone know when we might see that show up? This month? Six months from now? When mbed 3.1 ships?

More than 4 months :)

As an engineer, I really wonder why companies bother making these vaporware announcements. There is nothing to look at now, nothing that can considered in future plans.

Atmel seem to be particularly good at empty PR announcements.

Hi. It is not a vaporware. Atmel is coming up with Support for SAM R21, D21, W25 Xplained Pro boards. You can see the boards added to platform page. ;-)
