RSSI scan with Avnet Wi-Go System
Hey,
The wi-go system contains a Wi-Fi Communications module Based on TI's CC3000 (LBWA1ZZVK7) SimpleLink WiFi module.
Is it possible to scan for all access points in the neighborhood and receive their RSSI information. I also want to detect AP with a hidden SSID. Is this possible with the Wi-go system ?
I want to use an indoor positioning technique called fingerprinting. This technique uses the received RSSI of all access point in range.
I read this on a forum about the CC300: I hope it is not true.
"firmware from Texas Instruments does some kind of filtering when scanning for wireless networks. If multiple access points have the same SSID, it will only return one of them in the scan results"
