MAC OSX 10.5.8 and Serial commms??

Hi all. I am having difficulty getting a serial port connection from my NUCLEO L152RE to my Mac running 10.5.8 I am using a simple program just to test the serial but I am not getting a serial port showing up in my /dev/tty folder. There is no USBmodem entry in the dev folder. Is osx 10.5.8 not supported or do i need some kind or driver> Anyone else had this problem??

Have you updated the firmware to the latest for that device? http://developer.mbed.org/teams/ST/wiki/Nucleo-Firmware
