Porting mbed on TIVA C series EK-TM4C123GXL

Hi All,

I am really excited to join the mbed community. This is a great initiative. Thank you ARM! We are trying to prototype a home automation solution and have been evaluating various CortexM, 8051, MSP based solutions. Most of these today have higher cost of development mostly because of software development tools for it. One of my colleagues pointed me to mbed and I am really surprised I never came across it. The http://developer.mbed.org/platforms/ has a variety of platforms and that's awesome.

Since we have a TI based board that we are looking at, I was hoping to have mbed on it. Unfortunately no mbed on TI CortexMs. I would like to take up the task of enabling these for TI devices, the EK-TM4C123GXL in particular (http://www.ti.com/tool/EK-TM4C123GXL). Is someone already working on it? I think the first point is to start with the HDK (http://developer.mbed.org/handbook/mbed-HDK).

Appreciate feedback and suggestions on this.

Best Regards Kozak

Considering it already has a dev board, personally I would start with the SDK. Which I think it also a bit more straightforward than implementing the flashing algorithmes you need for the HDK.

Hi,

Of course. I went back and checked what the hdk does and thats definitely not something I was looking for. Yes SD is what I am looking at.

Hi,

There are guides how to start here on mbed, mbed SDK sources are hosted on github. Keep us update about your progress.

Hi, Thank you! Sure I will post my progress here. Apparently there is "some form of" CMSIS support for TIVA C Series. Still trying to figure out the latest on this one.
