GPS GPRS TRACKER BY USING MBED LPC 1768

Hi there, I am working on a project that helps blind people to work safely avoiding any obstacles in front of them by using an ultrasonic sensor that is connected to mbed lpc 1768 and give a beep tone through the headphones. Now I wan to add one more feature which is GPS tracker and the idea of that is to use a Ultimate GPS breakout and a GPRS chipset that can be connected to the mbed and let the blind person press on a button that sends a message to a number which is set it prior by the blind person and this will give information about the location and speed of the blind person.

I have found someone made it before but he used GPRS arduino shield [ SIM900 chipset] and I want to use mbed lpc 1768 instead of arduino.

any ideas?
