FRDM-K64F

Hi,

I have 2 questions related to the FRDM-K64F Freescale:

- RF24L01+ expansion pins: is this expansion XBee, ZigBee or WiFi? - Has the FRDM-K64F external power possibilities?

Thanks.

Hello Guy Dillen,

the expansion pins is "meant" to be for 2.4 GHz Radio modules RF24L01. However, you can probably find any other module with same pin layout and use it (wifi, zigbee or xbee).

There's adapter socket, which I haven't tested yet. I don't have currently the newest revision of K64F, if that adapter socket is still there (as I just read UG, it's not polluted ). It has external source available.

For more information, read http://cache.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/user_guide/FRDMK64FUG.pdf.

Hello Martin,

Many thanks.

OK I read in the mentioned document "DC Jack (not populated)," -> what does this mean/who can confirm if an external DC jack is available on the board, since I want to use the board in a "standalone" environment (=not connected to a PC via USB) after development?

Are 2.4 GHz radio modules general available? What I mean is: are there eg USB dongles (for using in an gateway) having this prorocol on board? As far as i know most used protocols today in IoT are XBee, ZigBee, WiFi, BLE.

Thanks. Guy
