Could not find the mbed.htm page on the device,also could not copy the upgrade file into the device

The mbed.htm file only appears after the upgrade (not that you need it btw, you can from the platform page do the same).

To update the firmware you need to keep the reset button pressed when plugging it in, it will then appear with name 'bootloader'. You can check if that makes it work, but good chance it won't: I see you got windows 8 at least, also windows 8.1? I don't know if they updated the bootloader already on their new boards, but if they didn't it won't work properly under windows 8.1. It might be possible to first update the bootloader itself. Easier would be to just get a PC with an olders version (windows 8, 7, vista, etc), and do the firmware update from that PC. It only needs to be done once, after that it will work fine under windows 8.1.

Thanks for the response, yes I am currently on Windows 8.1. I will try to use a Win 7 Machine.
