How to get rid of mbed email alerts?
Hi,
I am receiving too many email alerts. If I want to unsubscribe, it appears that a new subject is added to "dashboard".
How can I remove unwanted notifications from "dashboard", or unfollow those items?
How can I stop getting mbed emails?
(small writing under the emails says: You are receiving these emails because you are following this item. To stop receiving these emails navigate to https://mbed.org/blog/entry/mbed-at-Bay-Area-Maker-Faire-The-Greates/ and unfollow this item)

If you don't want emails about blog updates you can go to https://mbed.org/blog/ or the url mentioned in the email and click the button that says "Following" this will stop you receiving email updates.
If you want to stop receiving all emails from mbed or switch to receiving a digest then go to https://mbed.org/account/settings/ and change the settings there.
OK, I found the the "Following" button, but after I press it, it still says "follow". I would expect the text somehow would toggle between "following" and "not following". You could put a text next to the button ; 'press change following into not-following'.
I found that "unsubscribe" under the email actually did the opposit action: receive more emails. That is nasty! Quitting to receive all email notifications in "settings" is the best solution. Good buy mbed.
posted by 15 May 2014When it says "Follow" it means it is a button that you can click to make you follow that item. So it should toggle between "Follow" and "Following". The hover text for the button should say "You are following this item. Click to unfollow" when text is "Follow" and it should say "Click to follow" when the text says "Follow".
posted by 15 May 2014You ARE playing nasty. I clicked "following" into "follow". But as soon as I read it again the button is changed into "following". This is true of course but YOU understand that it is not what I wanted.
posted by 15 May 2014Are you saying that the button's state changed from saying "Follow" to "Following" without having clicked on it?
posted by 15 May 2014Yes.
But I cannot repeat it (anymore) now. Thank you.
It may also help if text above the button is changed from "Get blog alerts" into "Get / block blog alerts".
The explaining hover text is missed ("You are following this item. Click to unfollow" when text is "Follow" or say "Click to follow" when the text says "Follow"). It remains hidden because it comes up late.
And remember: clicking "Unsubscribe" under an email means at my place: "Stop sending emails". Why is it avoided to set the follow/following switch directly by "Unsubscribe"? The result is now that I read the email message, but I feel mbed has become too much irritating.
