Beginner Kits
Hi Everyone,
I have looked high and low for a flexible micro controller with USB MIDI support and it appears mbed might be my best bet. However, I come from more of a code/musicians background and less electronics so I do not want to jump haphazardly into things.
Are there any beginners kits that include a typical mbed (drag and drop, online compiler, etc.) along with possibly a bread board, LEDs, motors, pots, etc.?

Hi Pure, you could try the mbed LPC1768 along with the MBED Application Board available here:
And for the motors control you can use the Simple motor controller from pololu available here:
Greetings, i hope this info help you

If you are looking for a good starter kit for beginners, please check out this kickstarter project. It includes two miniature standalone processor options, and miniature add-on boards with LEDs, buttons, sensors, a relay, an LCD, battery, and a few more.
