Hardware compatibility
I am very new to mBed and have already written a couple of small programs to get used to the environment. I have an older board using the LPC2768 processor. Can this one be used with the current mBed system? Also, what is really needed for a development system? There are a number of boards out there with the LPC1768 as their base. They have USB otg, along with a number of other peripherals on the boards. Can these be used too, or is there something I am missing for compatibility with mBed?
thanx in advance.................

I assume you mean the LPC2368? As in that was the original (beta) mbed board, quick google makes me think the LPC2768 doesn't exist.
It is largely compatible with the LPC1768, and mbed code still supports them. I wouldn't expect many difficulties because of the LPC on it.

Yes, I made a mistake. It is the LPC2378 processor. I am more concerned with the USB connection and the ability to download as a flash disk. That would make the development relatively painless. I personally feel this would be a far better development environment than the compiler and JTAG unit I have.
thanx again.......
