How many pins of the 40 mbed nxp lpc1768 I can use as digital out?
A friend just gave this thing to me, so I have no idea about anything about it, but I have a project upcoming with the need of as many pins as possible.

Every pin which has a 'p' number, so 26,
While sometimes that will be insufficient, generally if you need more you might just as well either use port expanders, and trying to do as much as possible with devices on standard busses. You can put quite some I2C devices on a single bus for example.
See the pinout to know which pins. You should have a copy of this diagram in the box that your mbed board came in.
