Hi, I've just started an open source project aimed at mbed and other small faceless embedded systems. It is called Remote LCD and is a protocol and an Android App that displays a virtual LCD that can be controlled across a network by the mbed platforms. An mbed can send the text to display on the Remote LCD. In addition the app sends touches on the LCD back to the controller. This allows the mbed to display a menu system, which gives control of the mbed remotely from an Android device. These are essentially custom text-based Android Apps written on the mbed platform and are thus easy to write.

The source code is already available and it would be great to have an mbed RLCD client example if anyone would like to try out RLCD and submit some code.

This is excellent! Perhaps this calls for a rlcd service? I'd love to create a demo around it; but it would need to wait until I have some free time.
