RS485 interfac device to MBed

Hi Everyone,

I am just after some general advice regarding the selection of transceiver chips for RS485 and if possible a simple circuit. I have found some great post on the forum. My application is a Mbed to Mbed over RS485 network master slave configuration. I have been looking at the Maxim range of devices which appear good anyone had any experience?

Any help and advice greatly received. Regards John

Yes, MAX485 is good and a sample is probably free. On the other hand the SN75176 works as well and costs only 30 cents.

I´ve worked always with the 75176...cheap and affective. Just be carefull with voltage levels
