Compiler format command stopped working

Hi!
A few hours ago the compiler format command suddenly stopped working and has not recovered since. As I press the format button the mouse changes to the hourglass for some seconds as if the page was reloaded, but nothing happens to the code formatting.
I am normally using beta mode so I tried with alpha mode, but it did not help. I also tried to revert to an older revision of my code and testing the format command in another program, but neither of these worked.
Any ideas what could be causing the format command to fail?
