Beta site status?

Hi,

When I first started using the mbed site I saw references to try the "beta" site. Since I was on a contest deadline I stayed clear, but now that it's finished I'd be willing to try it.

Is it still going on? Can you switch back to the stock release site if you hit problems?

The current version of the site was the beta at that time.
