"Keep me updated via email" issue

I was typing a forum post and clicked "Keep me updated via email". Clicking the check box will cause me to lose what I have typed so far, which is very annoying.
Also it causes confusion as I would normally think it applied to my new post, however, clicking it would instead subscribe me to all new topics in the forum instead of my new topic.
