The MAX17048 is a simple, low-cost fuel gauge for single cell lithium-ion batteries. It uses a sophisticated algorithm called ModelGauge to accurately track the battery's state-of-charge without an external sense resistor.

A 0.1μF bypass capacitor is the only external component required to implement the MAX17048. If the hardware QuickStart pin is not required, it can be connected directly to GND.
