Support for LPC800 (LPC812)

I am seeing hints that there is/will be support for the LPC812, most notably the SDK porting page seems to have folders already for the target. One reason I really like MBED is the power I get without needed to dig too deep due to my time and experience.

My main questions are - Are people using it? - Can people share their experience and how they set it up? - Will it be supported with the online compiler soon?

UPDATE: It looks like things are moving along and support for the device is pretty much done. It would be nice to have more resources for using LPC812 specific features and limitations but I feel like this will be coming in the near future.

I wanted to confirm, but it appears that you can now change platforms for the compiler and one of the options is the LPC812. Is this now fully supported?

This article mentions that there will be an mbed board with the NXP LPC812 (Cortex M0+, 16K Flash, 4K Ram, 30MHz) in April. The NXP LPC-800 MAX development board is going to be compatible with lpcxpresso, mbed and arduino. Target cost is $20 USD. I think we need to be patient for a bit longer. The lpc812 mbed board was announced for release in April. Sofar I have not seen it for sale anywhere.

Thanks, that is pretty much what I found as well. I was hoping that maybe some MBED developers were working on it but just had not released it yet.

mbed does support the lpc800-max development board, but as it's not yet available to buy we've not made any "official" announcements.

Once you have the board you'll be able to follow the steps on the firmware page which will allow you to add the board to your mbed account and have it added as a compilation target.

This is great. I look forward to the new development board and the new processor. I hope this is released soon as I hope to use this for several projects soon and MBED is an amazing starting point.

Thanks, that is the LPCxpresso version not the NXP Max version that MBED is planning to support.

Still crossing my fingers.

I believe the LPC812 board is co-developed by NXP and Embedded Artists. From the LPCXpresso LPC1769, it has the same pin assignment as in mbed. See page 7 of the schematic.
