The Movtek TL8 smart building ecosystem consists of door locks, gateways, presence sensors and SOS button for use in residential and commercial deployments. Smart locks allow hotels to maintain security by updating passcodes remotely upon checkout. The ecosystem can streamline processes for landlords offering longer tenancy periods by offering frictionless invoicing and meter reads. Arm’s chipset, Mbed OS and Pelion Platform ensured chip to cloud security for both landlords and tenants. The Movtek team of three software engineers and one hardware developer leveraged the pre-integration of WiFi and NB-IoT connectivity to allow them to focus on the product functionality rather than low-level drivers and protocol stack porting. Movtek’s small but effective team were further bolstered by access to additional support from large silicon vendors and the Mbed/Pelion FAE team who were on hand to provide technical assistance during development.
