Summary
Minew standardised on Mbed OS because it provides extremely low power consumption, supports multiple beacon formats (iBeacon, Eddystone, URI beacon), beacon source does is readily available and has a collaborative online IDE.
Minew beacons were the standard used during Google IO events, all running the Eddystone format collaboratively written with Arm and Google.
