cannot compile anything again

This is the fourth time this has happened this year with my students. When you press compile it just hangs there , usually it is quick.

does anyone have similar issues

Yes. Having exactly the same problem. Hit compile ... and nothing happens. Or it seems to compile and sits there with a window saying 'initializing' and a progress bar that doesn't stop.

I've had it all day. Cant compile properly, copy or clone. And a couple of minutes ago compiler completely stopped loading. Waiting for status update or a fix.

Jep the compiler is stuck saying "initializing" have it too, was looking with various browsers on multiple PC´s very annoying

As of 3/19/18, for the last week, I haven't been able to compile. Hung in the initialization phase.

Hi all,

Apologies for the inconvenience caused today. We've now resolved this issue, which was related to build-system caches reaching capacity.

We've taken an action to improve our alerting should it occur again and will more actively monitor the status of the caches for the next few days.

I have seen similar behavior all day today, since 9AM MST.

A file is available for download, but compile is stuck in "Status:initializing".

I don't have much faith in the downloaded file, particularly when it's controlling 100's of Watts of power.

I have proposed that someone who knows what is going on create a topic called "Status" in the Forums, and go post "yes, we know it's down, we're working on it" and "we think it will be fixed by whenever o'clock.

And disabled anyone except system admins at Mbed from posting there.

Seems like it would save the pounding on the servers when everyone repeatedly tries to recompile.

that's what I suggested to mbed a month ago

please mbed team can you try and sort this out once and for all

The same here! If I reload the whole page (press "reload this page" button of browser), I am able to compile the project another once, after which the initialize window freezes again. Another reload, another compile, another freezing. Very frustrating!

Second time this is happening in a month or so.

Here are some ideas:

- Make sure servers are working fine before going forward with the online compiler idea. Yes? - Make it easier to access your offline compiler. - Post at least something as soon as this starts happening to keep us in the loop. Tell us about downtime, maintenance status ... Something ...

we are using MBED LPC1768 to complete university work, so if the server is not capable of handling work load and stops students from working this has the potential to cause loss of grades.
