Connecting mbed to PLC
Hello gentlemen!
Can You please give me few tips for connecting mbed to PLC. I planned to use Unitronics PLC and I planned to connect through RS485, will use modbus communication. Also I will buy tranciever for converting TTL levels to RS485. Please can You tell me which tranciever to buy, is it full or half duplex? I found Maxim MAX485 tranciever, there is version for full and for half duplex, but I do not know which to buy. Also I found Exar Transceiver RS-485 5V 10Mbps PDIP8. I am begginer in this field, so please help.

Hello Bojan,
for RS485 I recommend ST3485EBDR
Your choice between full/half duplex depends on your application and communication requirements, so let's go study little more about RS485.
