Unable to type ~ in the Compiler

29 Nov 2010

Hi, I'm using a Mac with an AZERTY keyboard (so the browser is Safari 5.0.2). To access the tilde character, I need to type Alt-N which acts as a dead key for tilde then a character that can take tilde or a space. In regular applications, tilde appears on a specific background to enlight the fact that it acts as a dead key. In the mbed compiler, the tilde never appears. The only workaround is to cut&paste a tilde from a native application into the web browser. Quite cumbersome...

Could this be related to the fact I've enabled the Beta mode ?

Thanks,

Further testing, I found a workaround: type Alt-N followed by Alt-Space and the tilde appears. No influence from the beta testing mode as it behaves equally bad in both modes.

Glad you found a work around; i've filed it as a bug anyway.

Thanks! Simon
