System requirements

Mbed Studio is available for Mac 10.11 (64 bit) and Windows 10 (64 bit). On Windows, make sure that the install location does not include spaces.


On Windows, you must have Git version 2.11 or later installed to be able to work with private repositories.

Proxy server support

To use Mbed Studio behind an HTTP proxy, you must:

  • Set your system proxy settings as appropriate for your operating system.
  • Set the http_proxy and https_proxy environment variables to the URL of your proxy server. For example, if your HTTP proxy has the IP address "", you must set the http_proxy environment variable to "". If it uses a non-standard port, for example 8888, you must set the http_proxy environment variable to "".
